LAUREN RITCHIE

I am on a mission to empower women to redefine and realize success on their own terms.

Too often we let extrinsic forces dictate what success should look like. Despite our tireless efforts in our careers, households, and relationships, we live with a constant feeling of falling short; falling short of expectations from others and of ourselves.

MY STORY:

When I immigrated to Canada from South Africa, I pursued a career in banking, which seemed like a natural progression following a finance degree at the University of Cape Town and a few years with a bank in London, UK.

Despite having ‘success’ in the banking world, something didn’t feel right. I had a passion for people, but not for spreadsheets. I knew something had to change, yet I stayed in it for almost 10 years!

Change was forced upon me when the global financial crisis hit and I was let go from my job. This was a blessing in disguise. It was the push I needed to change direction.

I decided to take some time off to become a mom and figure out the next phase of my career. I still had a desire to earn money, and attain success, but I needed to redefine it on my own terms.

I began to view my success in small steps along a journey, rather than a destination; in my ability to balance it all while maintaining gratitude and staying true to myself.

For me this meant doing business on my own terms and led to the creation of Samurai Solutions.

Samurai Solutions for Women has been created to help women redefine their version of success so they can own their truth, live happily with their choices and truly become the best version of themselves.
